Mrs. Kristin Larrea
Primary Montessori Directress

I would like to extend a warm welcome to the TCAPS Montessori Program.  I feel honored to be your child’s teacher!  My husband Rob and I were born and raised in Midland, Michigan.  We feel so blessed to be raising our two children here in beautiful Northern Michigan.   My personal hobbies include family, reading, yoga, camping, and beading.

I enjoy learning, so professionally I obtained an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (includes an Early Childhood Endorsement), a Primary Montessori Certification, and a Master’s in the Art of Teaching.  I thoroughly enjoy children so I spent nine years teaching in preschools (one being Montessori for six years) before moving into a traditional kindergarten environment for three years.  That position led me to TCAPS Montessori in 2004 where I found a home.

Our classroom is fortunate to have two teaching assistants.   Mrs. Lucinda Klepper (Miss Cindy) has been with our program since 2004 and our classroom since 2006.  Miss Cindy guides the children in the arts and introduces a famous artist each month.  Mrs. Kristy Tomlinson (Mrs. T) has been with our program since 2003.  She is joining us this year after taking a year off to be with her son.  We are thrilled to have her join our classroom family.  Mrs. T will be preparing and giving Practical Life lessons.

As a team, we are committed to providing a prepared classroom environment designed to meet the needs of each child, fostering a desire to learn and where learning becomes its own reward.  We believe the principle of freedom within limits guides independent learning.   We are excited to discover the miracle in each child as they guide us in their learning adventures.  We look forward to serving your children together.
