Mrs. Jen Girard Lower Elementary Directress

Picture
I have been teaching at TCAPS Montessori as a lower elementary directress for six years. In 2004 my husband and I moved to Traverse City from Marquette, where I earned my degree in elementary education. In the fall of 2004 I was hired as a lower elementary assistant, and immediately fell in love with Montessori. The following year I recieved my Montessori training in Rochester, MI. Since that time I have also earned my Masters in Education, and continue to grow as an educator.
I feel very fortunate to work amongst such incredible teachers, in a school that holds a philosophy to education that I believe in wholeheartedly. The Montessori approach to learning is one that inspires creativity, thoughtfulness, and utilizes intrinsic motivation to create life-long learners.
