2011-12 PTO Meeting Schedule

PTO Officer Elections for 2012-13 School Year

Picture
Parents – please consider taking a leadership position within the PTO. We have had a very successful and active group, and now it’s time for new faces to bring their ideas and energy forward.

We will be holding PTO officer elections at the May 15th PTO meeting for the 2012-2013 school year. The PTO is now accepting nominations for the offices of President; Vice President; Treasurer and Secretary. You may nominate yourself for one of these positions; or you may nominate another person (that person will then be contacted to affirm that they are interested in being a candidate). The positions run for a one-year term, with the provision that first-year office holders may run for an additional one-year term (for a total of 2 years in one position). Additionally, there may be openings to serve as committee chairs or members.

If you would like to make a nomination, please present it to Jennifer Berkey by Friday April 27th

Our Montessori Environment - Your Feedback Needed

Picture
The Montessori Environment Committee includes student, parent and staff representation. The purpose of this committee is to develop a plan for improvements to our current school building (both on the inside of the building and school grounds) to further support the Montessori philosophy. Our goal is to make the best use of this current space ~ our home (this plan is not to be confused with a “reconstruct” from the district).

Over the past couple of months nearly 200 wonderful ideas have been submitted from parents, students and staff! These ideas were compiled into three different categories: Indoor; Outdoor; and Community. We'd like everyone to take a look at all three of these documents and provide feedback by ranking the ideas as to whether you are in favor of implementing them at our school. You can easily fill them out electronically, and submit them to Tim Werner at werner_tm@yahoo.com.

Montessori Environment Committee
The Montessori Environment Committee is looking for students and parents interested in leading specific projects that will help make our school "more Montessori." Please contact Angie Camp, Andrew Habich, or Tim Werner for more information.

Save the date!  Move-a-thon is scheduled for Friday, May 4th
Look for more information soon about our annual, and much loved, fundraiser.  Inspiring students to“move it – move it”, this is PTO’s largest fundraiser of the year.

Shout Outs!
A special thank you to Angel Elsenheimer for coordinating Montessori’s Art Night celebration – and to Liz Sievers, Kathie Cesario, Miss Dana, Mrs. L, Mrs. O and Mary Dezelski for assisting with this wonderful event. And thank you to all the students and families who participated – what wonderful, creative talent we have at our school!
