Fall Fundraisers Rock!
Our two most recent PTO fundraisers have been tremendously successful, and both exceeded their goals. Thank you to all of the parents who generously contributed, along with your family and friends. And thank you to our wonderful children who worked very hard to support their school.
Our first-ever Local Harvest sale raised over $6,000--double what we expected! We’re proud that this new fundraiser supports local farmers and businesses while raising funds for our school. We had very positive feedback from many people, and look forward to repeating this sale next year.
Ladies Night raised $8,500! That's nearly $2,000 more than last year. Not only does this annual event raise valuable funds for our school, it's a very fun night out for the ladies who attend -- and an opportunity to build our school community connections.

Classroom Creations Reprints Available for Purchase
At the recent Ladies Night Fundraiser, each classroom created an original piece of canvas artwork that was auctioned off at the event. Over $700 was raised from these beautiful works created by our children! Each classroom was provided a blank canvas and paint and asked to create an art piece around the theme of "FALL." Directors, Directresses, Teaching Assistants, Dana Goodwin, Ladies Night Committee Members, and parent volunteers all helped to facilitate the process and the results were amazing.
Now everyone can own a copy of each of these beautiful works of art through a reprint replica you can purchase through Walgreen's Photo web site. Choices include 4x6 prints; photo gifts; cards and full size posters. Local Harvest Sale a Big Success!

We had very positive feedback from many people, and look forward to repeating this sale next year. Special thanks to LH Co-Chairs Marcy Lindberg & Melissa Tolan-Halleck; and to volunteers Liz Yarch, Elizabeth Dell, Judy Arnold, Molly Vander Horn, Val Schollett, Tammy LaFaivre, Andy Schollett, Lori Fletcher, Dori , Julie Sheerin, Michelle Goetz Grahl, Mrs. Kane, and our custodian Mary. Thank you also to Cherry Capital Foods, Oryana, the State Theatre, Cherry Republic, Grand Traverse Pie, Old Town Coffee.
Ladies Night Exceeds Goal!
Another fundraising “wow!”… Ladies Night raised over $8,000! We had 110 generous women attend the event at the Traverse City Country Club, and bid on over 200 silent auction items. This annual event is a very fun evening that raises valuable funds for our school. Many people worked very hard to make this festive event so successful. Thank you to chair Judy Arnold, and the entire LN committee: Michelle Turner, Krista Haapala, Cammy Hawn, Marcy Lindberg, Tracy Rucker, Val Schollett, Megan Shapiro, Jennifer Tank, Kate Greene, Alyson Olivier, Kendra Burkholder, Rachel Cherry, Melissa Girard, Angeline Piotrowski and Mary Bradley.
And special thanks to the businesses and families who donated to the silent auction; our vendors, and to all the ladies who made it such a fun and successful event!
Health & Wellness Committee News
Thank you to Mrs. Weaver’s (Ballmer’s) class for making Whole Wheat Raisin Soda bread and sharing it with the school! Ms. Becky’s class made pumpkin cookies and shared them with the school right before Thanksgiving break. Thank you to Mrs. Stricker’s class for the pumpkin granola! We would like to thank the parents that volunteered from each of the classrooms to help make all of these great tastes happen. If you would like the recipes for any of the things we are making in the kitchen they are available on the PTO website.
In November the nutrition topic in the classrooms was about eating a healthy breakfast every day with whole grains and fiber. In December the classes will be learning about the importance of family meals and sugar/snacks.
A shout out to Renee for putting on an amazing Thanksgiving meal for our students!
